If he is found, former Larimer County Republican Party Chairman Larry Carillo certainly could use a anti-theft class. There are many who feel all politicians are corrupt, taking huge sums of money from special interest groups. Carillo is an actual thief who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. The courts cannot issue an order for a stop theft class yet because Carillo has disappeared!
He remains at large, just a day after an arrest warrant was issued on a felony theft charge.
Carillo told the Fort Collins Colorado on an Tuesday afternoon that he was arranging to surrender to police, and Fort Collins police confirmed he had called to discuss surrendering.
But a detention officer at the Larimer County Jail said Carillo hadn't been booked as of this morning.
According to Colorado Theft Laws, he faces one charge of theft between, $1,000 and $20,000, a fourth-degree felony that carries a penalty of up to four years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
An arrest warrant affidavit accused him of stealing more than $17,000 in party funds between 2009 and 2010.
Is Carillo a bad person corrupting our nation’s political sphere? Or is this just another case of politics corrupting what was once a honorable gentleman? I guess we won’t know the answer to those questions until he returns from the lam!
